Only needed one pole so gave the other to my daughter. It is much stronger than similar products and both my daughter and I agree that the screw fastening is far superior to the cheaper alternatives. Like everything else, if you look after it, it will last. Don’t leave it out when raining or water will eventually collect in the outer pole. I’d also recommend smearing a bit of vasoline around the fastening area to protect the edges of the poles from water damage.Update: It turns out that the pole isn’t a strong as I originally thought having bent whilst extending it. It’s possible the extreme heat may have caused it to expand and bend whilst in use.

Not heavy duty
These are âalrightâ. Theyâre nothing special, but they are certainly NOT heavy duty by any means.Iâm not convinced that these will last the year out, but theyâre okay at putting tension in the line to help reduce sag. I donât trust them in higher winds/gusty weather, and they bend visibly with a heavier load, like hanging a bunch of martial arts uniforms, coats or quilts/pillows etc.They seem well-enough made, just not anything like as strong as the older ones or even the old wooden props. (I miss those)

Easy to adjust, height setting does not slip
In my past experience of washing line props the height setting has tended to slip, resulting in the fastening being over-tightened and breaking or needing to wrap insulating tape around the top part to stop it sliding back into the bottom part under load. Arguably having the prop work hassle free is the most important feature so full marks there.However, I’m slightly disappointed with the durability compared to previous props. The colour faded quickly even in my shady garden, the plastic coating cracked and it started to corrode. I had an unfortunate accident where I was tripped over by my dog and fell onto the pole. The lower tube buckled and snapped exactly at the bottom end of the top tube, but remained attached to the washing line and my fall didn’t bring the line down. However, it was a no-brainer to re-order the same because the quality is good for the modest price.

Good length, nice colour
These extend to a good length and the colour is really nice, I had the turquoise blue ones. Just have to make sure you tighten the holding screw bit to ensure that the prop stays extended fully when holding a heavy line of washing.
